after my sniffles, i wrote a few comments and kept deleting them (over on FB). then later, after i fwded that essay to a few people, i said to b, now THAT is a Writer. the sort of writing that makes you realize all the other stuff is entertaining to read, or sometimes clever and well-done. then suddenly you come across a piece like this that is so perfectly expressed, generously and personally detailed in the most un-generic manner, poignant and not sentimental. from your posts, i gather you work hard at your writing but it is clear you have a deep well of inherent talent as well. am i gushing? i thought it was superb
what a fascinating topic nestled in there as well, why do we give these cookie cutter answers to such important questions- do we all come to believe them?? does it say more about us or the person we are answering…
i miss you emily! what a talent you are. that was so heartfelt, and i am still jealous of anyone who’s been underground at central. hugs and happy new year.
I miss you too, Aileen. And thank you Erica for your kind words- I feel very encouraged to keep going with this project!
