Boston Museum Club

It’s on.  This Saturday me and my new friend Cathy and whoever else wants to come will be going to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.  Maybe the Grenhams, who share my passion for the nytimes audio slide shows, will come and help me make one?  They turned me onto the amazing Bill Cunningham’s style pieces.  He is your wonderful gay uncle in Manhattan.

Let me know if you want to meet up or if you have special advice on this museum.

  1. oh have you seen the documentary on the grand theft at said museum?? it is supposed to be very good. it has a simple title something like… stolen!! i keep meaning to watch it. also one of my favorite paintings ever is the flamenco dancer by john singer sargent that you see when you walk in. i love that museum. i wish i could join you!

  2. Hello Miranda – I’m a volunteer at the museum and saw your blog entry on my Google Alert. I noticed that you seem to be planning to make some kind of photo essay or film of your visit and I wanted to let you know, in case you are unaware, that the Gardner Museum has a strict no camera policy; no photos or videos are allowed unless they are commissioned by the museum. I’m not sure what an “audio slide show” is (?!) but I just wanted to make sure you were not disappointed when you got to the museum. Enjoy it while you are there, it is a magical place!

  3. Thanks for turning me on to Bill Cunningham on line. I always turn to the Styles section and his pix first every Sunday. Also, did you know that if your first name is Isabella you have free admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum your whole life? Maybe you can check that out for me with the museum lady.
