Lazy Dog Kayaking

Yesterday we took a 5 hour kayak and snorkel tour with a local company. I didn’t take any pictures on either of our best trips because I have no interest in bringing my phone to the beach. Or anywhere, really. Do blogging and enjoying/relaxing on adventures go together? Not usually.
Our guides name is Robin and she was a warm, patient, zen master. It was a very windy day and we did not see too many animals, but she gave a good overview of the keys ecosystem and mangrove islands. I was thrilled to be out on the water and the wind made the paddling good exercise.
There are five or ten nonprofits in nyc dedicated to enjoying our local waterways that offer free paddles every week in the summer. Now that I have seen how easy it is to use a modern kayak, I can’t wait to get out on the east river. I will let you know how it goes.
